Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us and is our first priority for an in-person convention experience. Please check this page periodically, as guidance may change in line with emerging science and health recommendations and requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are making the following requirements for our 2024 convention:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Attendees must be fully vaccinated. <\/b>While we will not be checking proof of vaccination, by registering, you affirm that you are fully vaccinated.
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Attendees will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth in all convention spaces<\/b>, including registration, panel areas, and gaming spaces, with the following exceptions:\n
      \n
    • While performing or presenting on a panel.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • In ConSuite and any other designated spaces for eating.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Briefly in normally masked convention spaces for the purpose of sipping a beverage.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • In non-convention spaces. The hotel also has ample open spaces outside of the immediate convention area where people can sit, eat, socialize without masking.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • High quality masks, such as N95s, KN95s, and KF94s, are preferred. Please reference the CDC website for more information on types of masks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Gaming tables will be spaced 6\u2019 from each other<\/strong>, and at each table chairs will be spaced to strike a balance between distancing and playability.\n
        \n
      • Gamers may wish to bring a personal set of dice.<\/li>\n
      • Because many games require touching of game pieces, a game board, dice, etc., hand sanitizer will be readily available in all convention spaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Our ConSuite will<\/strong>\u00a0include a selection of pre-packaged snacks and individually packaged drinks <\/strong>(cans, bottles) instead of our wider regular selection. For your contributions to the Chocolate Symposium, please bring individually wrapped chocolates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The hotel is not exclusive to our convention, and we cannot guarantee that other visitors to the hotel are vaccinated.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

        Why are we still requiring masking?<\/strong><\/p>\n

        As of mid-August 2024, every region of the United States has been experiencing increased COVID-19 transmission for over six weeks. We are also seeing that conventions which have masking policies in place are experiencing lower rates of COVID-19 transmission at their events. These policies are also intended to protect ConFABulous members who are especially vulnerable to COVID-19.
